The Alivora method

How Alivora works

No complicated setup. No pressure. Just a calm, consistent place to study every day.

The idea is simple

Most study tools try to do too much. They gamify, they track, they remind, they reward. Alivora does one thing: it gives students a calm, shared space to show up and study every day.

The research is clear. Small, frequent study sessions beat long, infrequent ones. Studying alongside others, even silently, makes it easier to begin. And sleep does the rest, consolidating everything learned into lasting memory.

Alivora is built around those three ideas. Nothing more.

Your daily session, step by step

01

Show up

Log in and enter your daily focus room. You'll see other students already there, working quietly on their own material. No chat, no distraction. Just shared presence.

The room opens at the same time each day. Seeing others already focused makes it easier to begin.

02

Choose one small goal

Before you start, pick one thing to work on. Not a whole topic, just one small, achievable goal for today. A chapter. A set of flashcards. Ten practice questions.

Small goals reduce the friction of starting. You're not committing to hours, just to one thing.

03

Get started

Open your notes, your textbook, your flashcards, whatever you need. Work at your own pace, on your own material. Stay for five minutes or the full session. Every minute counts.

There's no timer counting down at you. No pressure to stay a fixed amount of time. Just study.

04

Come back tomorrow

That's the whole method. Show up again tomorrow. And the day after. Consistency is the mechanism, not intensity. Over time, small daily sessions compound into real, lasting knowledge.

The students who do best aren't the ones who study hardest. They're the ones who study most consistently.

Inside a microrevision session

Every session follows the same simple, welcoming format. No performance, no pressure — just a shared space to get on with it.

When sessions run

Microrevision takes place every weekday from August to June (excluding public holidays), at two times to suit your day: 7.45–8.15am and 3.45–4.15pm. Subscribing students receive a monthly Zoom link to join.

A calm, quiet room

Students join with cameras off and microphones off. There's no pressure to be seen or heard. Ali, Alivora's founder, is always present on camera. She works quietly on her own writing, just as you work on yours.

Be whoever you like

Students change their display name to their favourite animal. Some even use that animal as their profile picture. It's a small, playful touch that makes the room feel a little more like yours.

Ali is there every session — not to teach, not to check up on you, but simply to study alongside you. That shared presence is the whole point.

Why this works: the research behind Alivora

Alivora isn't built on guesswork. It's built on three well-established findings from educational research.

Spaced practice

Studying the same material across multiple short sessions, spaced out over time, produces far stronger long-term retention than a single long session. This is one of the most replicated findings in cognitive psychology.

Social facilitation

People work harder and more consistently in the presence of others, even when those others aren't interacting with them. Shared focus rooms harness this effect without the distraction of collaboration.

Sleep and memory consolidation

Memory is strengthened during sleep. Short daily sessions, rather than late-night cramming, leave time for sleep to do its work. Spreading study over time, with sleep between sessions, can help strengthen learning and long term retention.

Little and often. Lasting learning.
